Our Babymoon

It's hard to believe that any day now we will be bringing our son home. The whole pregnancy has been amazing and is going by so fast. Seth and I had been talking about where to go for our Babymoon for quite some time. We wanted to get a little time away together before the baby comes. We could not figure out where we wanted to go, and then a unique opportunity presented itself. We wanted it to be special and it really was. We visited several church historical sites. It was perfect!! We had so much fun and saw many amazing places. It was a wonderful time of year to visit the sites because almost no one else was there. The missionaries were so happy to have someone to take around. We got a "behind the scenes tour" at each site and were even allowed to explore places that they usually don't let people go. I loved the stories they told and the Spirit that we felt. It was amazing, and such a blessing to be able to be there together.

I am posting several pictures from the trip. Here is a little peak at our adventures...

Smith Family Farm

The Sacred Grove

Smith Family Home

Sister James was our tour guide in Palmyra. She was amazing!

Whitmer Home

Hill Cumorah

Dead Sea Scroll Exhibit at the Hill Cumorah Visitors Center

Grandin Building

Elder Deschamps was our tour guide in Kirtland. He was so nice and even gave us some of his artwork to bring home.

Newel K. Whitney Store

Ashery

Sawmill

We took a little detour to visit Niagara Falls. It was beautiful!!

We forgot our passports and could not visit Toronto....ugh!

I can't wait for baby Poor!!! Rob and I never did take a babymoon... maybe we'll have to do it this summer. I've been fortunate to visit a lot of church sites, but have never made it up to New York. Maybe that's what we'll do!

Wow, looks like you guys had a really great time! It's cool that you were able to get out and visit some neat places. The nearly Canada pictures are cute. Sorry you couldn't go in.

It's funny -- my friends always refer to a babymoon as the time you spend snuggling your new sweetie. Just like a honeymoon that comes after the wedding, a babymoon comes after the baby. I have never heard of the "whew, it's still just the 2 of us" trip referred to as a babymoon before. Is this a generational difference? Egad, I'm only 8 years older!
