Summer Fun with Micah

Seth and I agree that we are officially doomed. : ) Micah is such an amazing baby. He has been sleeping through the night in his crib since he was about 9 or 10 weeks old. He rarely fusses or cries without a reason that we can identify. We decided to wean him off the pacifier at bedtime and stop swaddling him all in the same night (last week). He was getting so strong that he kept squirming his way out of the blanket and waking himself up. I prepared myself for what was sure to be an awful few nights...but he only woke up a couple of times the first night for some comfort and has been sleeping through the night again ever since. Unbelievable. Micah is such a happy and cuddly baby and we are crazy about him. So... why are we doomed? We are both convinced that with a baby this wonderful our next one will be a little monster. : ) There is no way this can happen twice, right?

I guess there is one thing I would rather not be dealing with so soon. My little almost 4 month old is about to cut four teeth. All four canines are coming in with a vengeance. He is teething like crazy but hasn't gotten too fussy yet. The pediatrician suggested baby oragel and all of the other normal teething remedies, but I am open for any suggestions. I would like to be as prepared as I can for when he really starts feeling those teeth.

I am adding some slideshows below. I thought it was the easiest way to catch up our friends and family on the last two and a half months of life "In the Poor House".

This slideshow includes Micah's two month pictures, and our trip with Julie and Savannah (my sister and niece) to Kings Dominion and Virginia Beach.

Micah can roll over now. We suspected it for a couple of weeks when we would find him on his tummy in the morning, but we "officially" saw it happen on August 11th. So cute! He is also very expressive. If you have been around him you have probably noticed the way that he uses his eyebrows to let you know what he's thinking. I am going to try and get it on film and post it. It's hilarious!

The pics below are from Micah's 3rd month of life, and of his baby blessing last weekend.

Here are some more three month pictures, and also some pics of Micah playing with his cousin Conor. We think they look alike. Micah loves to stand up with our support. It always makes him laugh. : )

Big ups on the update!

In some of those pics Micah looks just like Seth, and in others he's awake!

Now, we just need to get Micah, Emily, and Nolan in a baby deathmatch to see who is the best Poor Baby.

Thanks so much for the update. Micah is adorable. You guys are SOOOO lucky to be getting sleep. Don't get too comfortable. The teething could mess that schedule up in a heartbeat. But hopefully it won't.

One of the best things for my kids when they were teething was to get one of their baby washcloths a little wet, freeze it, and let them chew on it. If he likes chewing on his blankie, I bet Micah will like that, too.

Good luck!
