Our Month In Review

This last month has been wonderful and full of fun. We enjoyed Christmas in Tennessee, had an "amazing race" on New Years, assembled baby furniture, and enjoyed feeling our baby boy kickbox in my belly. I don't think that we have ever been happier. Things are going great! We even had snow here in the last week. Not much, but enough for me to get a little snow fix. Seth thought it was funny that they were closing schools (Colorado boy!).

Time keeps flying by, and we have been trying to prepare for the arrival of ___?___. Yes, we have a name picked out. : ) We are keeping it to ourselves, but everyone will know soon enough. The name picking process was much harder than I ever imagined it would be, but once we came up with it there was no doubt in either of our minds. We thought of it right before Christmas on the way to TN. I love those drives with Seth because we never turn on the radio. We just talk for 7 hours straight. So anyway, the name came up and there it was. Perfect!

This time of year is always a little sad for me because the Holiday season is ending. I start looking forward to Christmas in August. It's definitely my favorite holiday. This year has been a little different, though. I have been so distracted with baby preparation that I have not had any time to be sad. We have both just been so excited!

Some of our friends hosted an "Amazing Race" New Years Eve event. We watched the show for the first time that week to do our homework, and then set out to win it all. They did such a great job with the whole thing and we had so much fun. The picture above is us at the finish line. We came in 2nd, but Seth was still reluctant to admit defeat. : )

My furry baby decided to cuddle with our son. Booker kept falling asleep against my tummy in TN. It was so cute.

Christmas Dinner at my mom's house. Delicious!

Julie, Conor, Daniel (Julie's boyfriend), and my dad. We were opening presents at my dad's house.

Conor and Lara. I have never seen such a precious little Santa! He wasn't too happy at this moment, but about 5 seconds later he had a huge smile on his face.

Savannah (Julie's daughter) in her Christmas dress.

Opening presents at my mom's house.

We have been so blessed with loving and supportive families. It is always hard to say goodbye to them, but it was time to head home to NC.

I love the picture of the dog sleeping cuddling up to your baby belly. So cute. Wait till it comes out and makes all the noise! Then the dog won't want to sleep with it. Ha ha ha.

Keeping the name a secret...! How do you answer the #3 question you're always asked as a pregnant person: "Do you have a name picked out yet?"
For those of you wondering, question #1: "When are you due?", and question #2: "Are you having a boy or a girl?".
I thought of having a t-shirt made up when I was pregnant that said, "December 17th, girl, Shaelyn Marie". I would have had to wear it any time I went out in public!

Shelley, you are so right. I get asked all of those questions any time I go out in public. Here are my answers...1.April, 2.Boy, and 3.We have narrowed it down quite a bit. : ) You might be hearing me say that at the shower this weekend a couple of times. lol.

So, will having secret-name-baby-boy slow the traveling down for a while, or will he just be a little jet-setter from the start?
